gubbins / ˈgʌbɪnz / noun.

  2. a small device or gadget

  3. odds and ends; litter or rubbish

  4. a silly person

Gubns is a global community of architect-makers coming together to connect, collaborate, and celebrate the art of high-end craftsmanship. Founded by Jesslyn Guntur in 2022, Gubns is now supported by a committee of volunteers (core) with a members area (makers) and wider community (club). By observing the quiet trend of architects turning to the crafts during the pandemic, the idea came to gather these niche treasures and the interdisciplinary minds behind them. Today, it stands as a collective - a way of embracing new forms of work and creation with chapters based in London and New York.

Taking its name from a word which means “of little value”, Gubns is both an act of rebellion and a call to action. Our community comprises of architects, engineers, urban designers and other built environment professionals using their specialised skill sets towards smaller scales and new mediums. The result is a rare breed of high calibre work across disciplines such as furniture, fashion, ceramics, woodwork, metalwork, 3d-prints, and more.

Join the soft rebellion.
